Barbie Ferreira's Dramatic Weight Loss Draws Mixed Reactions, Actress Accused of Taking Ozempic

While she initially received positive comments about her transformation, netizens accused Barbie of choosing an unhealthy way to lose her fat.

In 2019, Barbie Ferreira made her name known in the entertainment industry after starring as Kat Hernandez in the hit HBO series, "Euphoria."

At the time, she also drew love for her body positivity movement, even calling out the fashion industry for labeling them "plus size" due to its restrictive sample sizes.

In late June then, netizens began to notice the significant amount of weight she was losing — yet, her fans were very supportive of her body goals.

Her followers implied that it feels like she is more confident now with her slender fit, and her apparent positive energy radiates in her beauty as well.

On X, her body transformation became the talk of the town and people were shocked as they almost didn't recognize Barbie. She was beautiful back then, but she looks even more stunning now.

Some of the comments are:

"Body positivity is nice, but losing weight is also better."

"This lady is so pretty, chubby, or slim."

"Good for her but man, she looks really good on both sides."

However, some netters jumped and accused her of achieving her smaller figure through an unapproved way — which is taking ozempic.

"Ozempic got a choke hold on the entire industry."

    "Ozempic did its thing."

Ozempic is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to be used by type 2 diabetes patients to boost their insulin levels.

It is not certified to be used for weight loss, but due to its key ingredient semaglutide that helps in shedding fats, some physicians are prescribing it to patients, especially to those who are obese.

Some of the side effects when taking this are tricking the brain that one is full, and slowing down digestion.

Reading these comments, her fans defended her and felt disgusted how Barbie was fat-shamed by netizens leading her to exercise and diet, only for her to be accused of using the drug.
